Eschew Erudition - Poem by Whitney Jones Olson

i simply jst don't wanna be
erudite intellectual
You and me, we like lillies,
and not jst cause we're poor,
which you like to call cheap.
Hunched down shadows,
spilling in roadside ditches
that's jst us.
Never gonna be lonely, honey,
while forgotten things grow -
All this academic pomp
well, its the ontological existential dilemma
of modern homo sapiens,
and i'd rather, honest,
kiss your eyelids,
and dance all over your simple
unadorned silent
country smile.
