Evermore... - Poem by Fahima Mohideen

Ever the days turn
Ever the time passes
Ever the sun sets
Ever the moon rises.

Ever the clouds drift
Sun peeping behind,
Ever the birds chirp
Glorifying in light.

Ever the trees grow
Ever the leaves turn yellow
Ever the sun goes down,
On one more blossoming hope.

Ever the wheel turns
Bringing change,
Ever the paths cross
Bringing opportunities.

Ever the times change
Tears fall like pearls,
Ever with silver linings
Hope sparks a light.

Ever as life goes on
People brought together,
Ever as love fades
Friends drift apart.

Ever as houses age
Likewise the poeple in them,
Ever as parents die
Their heirs come to fore.

Ever as things go on
I find myself alone,
Ever, for all of time
Alone.
Dark.
Forlorn.
