Every Time - Poem by shamon mackey

every time I let you go you reel me back in
Just when I think this is a new beginning
You show me I’m right back at the end
Over and over again I have cried
Begging God to bring you back into my life
But now I just ask myself why?
You do the same thing over and again
At this point we shouldn’t even be friends
Even if the love is still there it should be gone
Cause I have put up with this shit for to long
I deserve so much more
So I know it’s time to close this door
And move on to the next phase of my life
Which doesn’t include so much time and strife
Worrying about if I will ever be good enough to be your wife
