The sky is dark but my candle burns bright
wherever i go so will my light
I am a small fire that began with a spark
You said that im blind, and should live in the dark

mine were the worst
they mould you then scold you
and rub your face in the dirt

people say im stupid people say im crazy
people pay there taxes and they say im lazy
like they could walk a while in my shoes
maybe then they could sing and write the blues

i was sitting in the living room waiting on the phone
waiting for that phone call, waiting on my own
but she never rung me it was was all so hard to see
what was happening right in front of me
