Everything That Glitters Ain'T Gold - Poem by cornelius williams

A dream that was so real fell like a poor man reaching out for food, Never knew what I was doing.Only why I was doing it beacause I loved you.To be with you.I wanted , to love you I promised, To be there for you I swore to be together forever I prayed though her word and her promises fell like the stars in the sky, Pain fills my heart, thoughts run though my mind. But through her lies and pretending like I still stand tall as a man facing time for a crime.I did for a woman whose intention all doing was to be heartless in the end. But it ok love can make you do crazy things sometime. But I still keep my head to the sky and my prayers to the heavens cause I know the sun is still shining somewhere my theory of how everything that glitters ain't gold
