Eyes Wandering - Poem by Kathleen Pastrana

Eyes wandering
like vagabonds,
searching listlessly for something
interesting to dwell upon
Life has been dismal lately
But then you walked into the room,
dressed in a dark gray t-shirt
that had Just Do It printed across the front,
it felt as if it was urging me to talk to you
but I wasn't the kind to approach strangers first,
not when you were standing just a few feet away
and your face was creasing into a smile that was enough
to leave girls in an everlasting state of stupor
overwhelmed for being the receiving end
of something so genuine
The world around me suddenly went still
I don't know what came over me
Perhaps it was just the thrill
of making first impressions
or the anticipation of
our future conversations
that had me stupefied
because the instant that our eyes met,
I knew
the vagabonds have found their
home

Perhaps it was just the thrill of making first impressions
or the anticipation of our future conversations
    that had me stupefied
because the instant that our eyes met, I knew
    the vagabonds have found their
home.. Finally you came to the point and you are consoled to find what your eyes and heart was looking for. thank you for this poem
