'Fade To Black' - Poem by Kelly Seale
Heat blisters the graffiti on the walls
of the concrete jungle.
Eyes acutely focused; yet-
Almost as if a mirage in the desert sun,
everything fades to black.
My madness consumes all within me,
like a cancer, eating away at the flesh.
Even as the sun goes down,
and the day slips into night-
I'm Hell's prisoner, after The Reckoning.
I show no mercy, hold no quarter- Reveling in human plight.
I am Death-
Knocking upon your door...
'Hahaha! Hehehe! '
I laugh out loud, so goulishly
as you turn on the light,
to let me in, so foolishly.
With innocent, naive eyes-
My charm is your weakness, your craving,
much to your surprise-
How could you turn me away?
And in cold blood, I take another soul,
as the night burns into day-
Everything Fades to Black...
