Farewell, My Love Poem by shikha shanti

Farewell, My Love

Rating: 5.0

This winter snow that has stolen sight
has buried my heart in twilight
where is the breeze, where is the song?

Of thee?

That you gave to me.

Only fragile tears that you are gone...
only quiet fear that all is done
Forever and ever.

Now, these faded memories in a barren land
searching, seeking, finding emptiness; here i am
Yet searching... Still.

Where? where?

Nowhere,

just stillness, just silence

Forever.

Oh how i weep...
Stormy eyes that monsoon each night
Heartbreaking memories of November's plight
That took you too soon!
from me, for Eternity.

Yet, there is that gentle smile
beckoning my dreams to follow
the river of you each night
my heart obeys in delight.

Awakening to foggy daylight
in this barren desert of despair is my way
these dark days,
where wolves and demons lurk and lay
like weeds that grow in slippery clay
taking my moments and breath away.

Yet, here i shall stay
with you gone each day

Farewell, farewell...
