Fear - Poem by Pradeep Mamgain

I never had the courage
To say…
I need you…
More than a friend
I had a

My love for you
A bird’s love for the sky
A river’s love for the ocean
A cloud’s love for the rain
I told you that…
I definitely told you
But only in dreams…

One day
I decided to
Tell you
My heart
It always beats for you

I ran
Towards your place
Face turned pale
Blood rushed to face
Body was numb
Legs were frozen

It seemed like midnight
Just in midday

A smile’s love for the lips
A tree’s love for the breeze
A fish’s love for the water
That all …
Started the flowing of
My eyes

You were busy
Arms holding him tight
Lips locked
My lips
Tried to say something
They fell to the fear
I always had.
