Fear Feels Like Me - Poem by Gabrielle Hastings

You make me feel like life is a lullaby...
Oh, pretty dream.
You make me real.

To my surprise, I feel alive.

You make me feel like tonight I'll survive...
Just come to me.
Thus we're surreal.

The silk moonlight holds us tight.

But will it last forever now?
Feeling this high might let me down.
Shallow end, waiting 'till I drown.

Bunch o' toy soldiers,
But they don't fall down.
I think my heart is too loud.

Now I feel safe again,
Awake again,
But when it ends,
What then?
Dead.

You make me feel like...
I'm scared you might...
Leave.
