Fear Of Consumption Poem by Alicia Gordon

Fear Of Consumption

When I seal my eyes
I will to freeze
In place I long
to drink on ease.
No worldly tremors
cry in frustration.
Heaven's sent escape
provides freedom of elation.
To lie mute at peace
all seeked then sought
will be my trophy
for battles fought
When I open my eyes
I dread to play
the games of life
every torturous day.
