Festival Of The Pet Poem by Marilyn Lott

Festival Of The Pet

Rating: 2.8

We had pets of every size
Temperament and breed
Line up to show off
Given everything they need

Put your head up high
And walk a steady pace
Please be good and proper
So you won’t be a disgrace

“That’s a good boy, Fido”
“Sit when you are told”
Some are still young puppies
And some are rather old

Some forget their manners
Busy sniffing and snorting
“Behave now, ” they are told
As the owner is escorting

‘Kerchief ‘round their necks
To decorate their cute self
Hoping to get a trophy
To set upon a shelf

But it’s really lots of fun, folks
To watch these dogs perform
Entertaining us for an afternoon
With their unique kind of charm!
