Fire And Water - Poem by Emma Annebella
The heart that was once withered and cold
Has been given the chance to flourish once again.
New hopes, new beginnings, all with vast possibilities
Linger at the door.
As the shadow of times past lurks
The inevitable struggle seems in view.
The mind warns
Yet the heart does not listen.
Truths are golden
With underlying darkness.
Voices cry out with love and fear
But with no ear for them to reach.
The yearnings of the heart
And the warnings of the mind
Have found their place within me
Such as an unbounded quarrel
Finds itself between
Fire and water.
