Following The Generation. - Poem by Bailey Burris
I am too young for this shi t
Why am I putting myself threw this?
Same old circumstances,
Just let him take the hit.
Beauty’s not there.
That shouldn’t be the attraction.
Putting your heart out there for ransom
You’re just asking to be abandoned.
Is like the same as being sold on a street.
It’s wrong, I tell you, wrong to the core
It’s not the only way for you to eat.
It just makes you a nasty whore
Boy after boy.
Love after love.
What are you expecting?
He’s not gonna fall from above.
How will he see the beauty you are
If all of that beauty is just covered by scars.
How will he see that this will last forever.
If failure is the only result for your every endeavor.
D amn, I’m so stupid.
Just take your time.
Have fun with your youth,
Quit dating every guy.
You’re turning into the person that you never wanted to be
And running far from morality.
Please, take a glance, in the other direction.
Rethink you’re choices, and the consequence for your action.
Please just think of who you plan to be.
And that precious child that you love so dearly.
Do you want to have to explain to them.
That they were a mistake from a faulty condom.
You are meant to life for so much more.
Don’t get caught up in this.
Don’t be the way you were before.
Give it a think, a little ponder.
Before you, again, put your heart threw the grinder.
