For Consensus Poem by Rahman Henry

For Consensus

Rating: 5.0

Piercing ribs of
Assent
and dissent
Blows on—a humming wind

The songs sung by tailor birds
In your pomegranate tree
Those may be translated into—two different ways
But on the question of human-terminology
Just like an interstate stream
There strongly exists a third consideration too!

Birds— the messengers of climate and cosmos,
Not spokesmen for anyone;
Borders never determine their nationality.

keeping an eye on the grown pomegranate
Let your people and birds disagree;
Otherwise, how would we reach a consensus?

great thought in the third and fourth stanza; here, I think, your birds - symbol of the universal delegation and existence of world unity; birds are independent, has no border, can fly hither to thither everywhere; so if the humans are the crown creation of Creator why they will live by making frontier fences

Profound poem with a touch of satire on political boundaries. Neither nature nor aminals are bound by the lines we draw to demarcate our country, they are free from it. Thoughtful poem 10++
