For Iryna - Poem by Sue Jones

The water shimmers
Reflecting the dazzling rays
Of the sun not yet ready for winter’s veil

Like your eyes
That now are captivated, delighted
Full of hope

Soul’s winter is banished
Put away and cast aside
A path abandoned and left untrod as the grass and fields beckon

A future
A hope
The promise of life
