Forever - Poem by Anna Dietze

Alone in the night
Looking at the stars
A single tear trickles down my cheek
Splashes on my hand
Quiet sobs
Wanting to leave, to get out
A new identity
New personality
Something different
Hard to breathe
My heart hurts
They’re oblivious to the pain
Not aware, almost clueless
They believe they aren’t to blame
Reality will soon set in
They will finally realize
They lost me
