Forget - Poem by Lynzi Berner

Forget
my breaking heart
Forget
my souls slow death
Forget
my broken mind
playing
records of your voice
that skip
when you laugh
and distort
when you cry
Forget
my laughter
Forget
how my eyes shone
when I saw you
Forget
how I smiled
when I said
I love you
My voice
now a whisper
speaking to your soul
in the spaces of
longing that you
will never fill
