Found Poem: Advice For A Young Poet - Poem by Monty Gilmer

Be careful who your
critics are. Be specific.
Tell almost the whole
story. Put your ear close down
to your soul and listen hard.

An interviewer once asked American poet Anne Sexton what advice she would give to a young poet. Sexton replied, Be careful who your critics are. Be specific. Tell almost the whole story. Put your ear close down to your soul and listen hard. So the advice for a young poet in my found poem is not my advice but Anne Sexton's. (Report) Reply
