Four Friends Poem by Adegbenro Adekunle

Four Friends

We were four friends
He was a real friend
We were four brothers
He was a real brother

We were thieving goats
He was a thriving sheep
We were tyrant tigers
He was a tender tiddler

Our friends loved us
The people loved him
We loved to hate him
He hated to hate us

We were severely selfish
He was simply selfless
We emptied the treasury
He left leaving treasures

Written to promote democracy and selflessness worldwide, especially in Africa and to remind everybody that democracy is the government of the people and not a government of your few friends. Definitely, everybody has friends!
