Free Her Soul Poem by Payyton Egerstaffer

Free Her Soul

A painfully cold sensation in her chest,
these detestable words have done their best.
As all this pain is screaming free,
she knows loves sweet taste is not to be.
All of her doubts begin to rant,
causing havoc with their chant.
In her head she hears them scream,
she shields her ears to stop the stream.
Set her free, oh hateful pain,
for it beats her down with sad refrain.
She fights to arise above the feelings,
to escape fates unfair dealings.
Her release is not in sight,
as she faces her lonely plight.
She notices a tear flowing down her face,
and wonders if she can arise from this dark place.
This wound has gone in far too deeply,
her relief cannot come cheaply.
