Friends Adrift - Poem by Marc Krüger

Why in absence of a solemn oath,
With indeed no promise made.
Neither grieve, but both,
The losing of each other's shade.

No telling what tomorrow brings,
A croaking toad, or birds may sing.
A brand new road -
A painful sting.

Where will I go?
I know...
In many circles,
...slow.

I really like the closing stanza...simple yet powerful.....and painfully true for us all. (Report) Reply
