Full Circle Poem by Deborah Downes

Full Circle

Rating: 5.0

Two lonely children
Walking hand in hand
Standing side by side
Against a cold world
Hearts faintly allied

Two teenage rebels
Back turned against back
On diverging roads
Towards conflicting goals
Each shoulders her load

Two aging matrons
Again arm in arm
Standing face to face
With tears and laughter
In tender embrace

Two warm loving hearts
Have come full circle
Now beating in time
Share laughter and tears
And walk side by side

Two loving sisters
Walking hand in hand
Standing side by side
‘Gainst old age and death
Hearts fiercely allied
