God, Please Help The Innocent Poem by Marilyn Lott

A friend was terribly upset, Lord
It was today that she told me
It hurt and made her angry
Stories and pictures she'd hear and see.

Precious little children and animals
So innocent and helpless
Are being abused unmercifully by
Evil people and at times even confess.

We know that Jesus loved the innocent
They meant so much to him
He would protect them with his life
He would go out on a limb.

Oh Lord, perhaps you could send
More Angel's here on earth
To protect those sweet little innocent
From the moment of their birth.

Let's say a prayer, my friends
For it doesn't make any sense
To allow this to go on
Let's ask God to help the innocent.
