Gods Hands Poem by Jean Gray

Gods Hands

Rating: 4.5

I took hold of Gods hand today,
He came to me and had to say,
'Jean, I am here, walk with me now,
I'll show you your path you must travel,
and I'll show you how'
I took his hand and walked a way,
There were many hills to travel,
I didn't feel dismayed,
God held me closely,
As I prayed, prayed to have strength,
To finish the path,
To stand at the end and never look back.
Only forward is now the way to go,
My God will deliver, he keeps me close,
He is my Saviour, My God, my wonderful Red Rose,
He is my fragrance, my life, whom I chose,
Gods hands are warm and gentle,
Like clouds on a sunny day,
He knows my needs, I just have to say,
'Please God, hold me, I feel so scared,
secure me in your arms, let me feel prepared,
prepared for what you have in mind for me,
I will face it with you,
together we can do this, I know you want me too'
I take Gods hands every day,
and through the night, I just have to pray,
He watches me always, I feel so near,
I know when he is with me, I feel no fear,
Fear of death, why, its a new beginning,
Heaven is near, there is no winning,
Just glorious things as yet to come,
It makes me feel warm, like the bright shining sun,
I long to be well again, but only God can decide,
Sometimes I try and run and just want to hide,
Then God stops me and takes me by his side,
He shields me and strengthens me,
Tells me to have faith,
Faith in him constantly, feel his embrace,
I love you God, with all my heart,
You are my Saviour, never to depart,
Thankyou God for all you are doing,
I will travel with you always,
Only you know where we are going,
Take his Hands today, he will lead you too,
Just pray and listen and God will be with you.
