Going By Poem by Amina Ammour

I sit and watch the day go by
I want it to freeze so I can see
But it just goes by
I want to understand it and hear it
But it just goes by

Then one day, it froze
I got to finally see
But it wasn't pretty
I got to see the world differently
And this time it didn't go by

I could see the sea level rising
I could see the ice melting
I could hear the cries for help
I could hear the thunder

I sat and wandered
What was wrong with the world
Had it gone mad or had I
The day used to go by but not today

Than to my surprise, I realized
The world was ending
And my wish had come true

Now I can see the world without it going by.
