Gone Are Those Days - Poem by Mugdha Khedkar

Gone are those days,
When the sun shone bright,
And saw me asking my mother
Where it disappeared at night.

Gone are those days
When an innocent girl thought
As she grows up her parents' age will decrease
And they will need her baby cot!

Gone are those days
When I went to get a vaccine
I cried as the nurse got the needle ready,
And created a noticeable scene.

Gone are those days
When I fought with a rude girl,
As she troubled my sister
And I thought I could fight the world!

Gone are those days
When my world was just my home
My family, my friends, my toys
I was still not found alone.

Gone are those days,
When I first learnt to ride
A bicycle with much effort
But more than riding, I cried.

Gone are those days
When my tears, my fears
Disappeared as soon as they came
To be replaced by heartfelt cheers!

Gone are those days
When a sapling grew into a tree
Wonderful days those were
As beautiful as they should be!

Gone are those days,
Gone to remain in my heart
Gone to become memories
Which can never break apart.

Gone are those days
Gone to become a beautiful past
Which will fill my eyes with tears of joy
Till the day I breathe my last!
