Goodnight Sweet - Poem by Conor Young

If you’re our day,
And all the wonder that you shine,
Is drowned out by my spite.
Then, I will be our night
For I’m our blight

You bring us euphoria,
But if I’m the rapture’s black smudge;
An infestation on utopia.
Then, I will be our night
For I’m our blight

A year at my arm;
Has made you a faint winter twilight,
When once you were a shining constellation.
Then, I will be our night
For I’m our blight

Yet you still illuminate our shadow.
Make good my blunders
And pilot our passion.
Then I will be our night
But, you’re our light
