Lynzi Berner

Granted - Poem by Lynzi Berner

You were a
beautiful gift

You were a
painful
reminder of life

You were a
brief glimpse
at a shooting star

I realize
that I was never
meant to hold you

Hush now
don't cry

You were
granted
a time in heaven

Now that door's
closed

Let him go
try to hold on
it doesn't matter

Nothing
will bring him back
