Greedy Bastards

What do people wish for -
They might have everything they need
And still they have greed
For more, More…
Glamour, fame and money
A love, a mistress and a honey
Yet greedy we are
And the bastards take their share
More than they deserve by far
And me? And all the others? We don't dare

To reach out and hold what is ours.

A bit defeatist if I may…..that’s the content bit. This villainous theme has been repeated all over the world…all through the ages…. It was played with vengeance whether during the two millennia of the Romans….or the 2,500 yrs of Persian empires…. From the Nile to the mighty Yangtze’s roar. Why forget the, so called, new worlds? The injustice and the jungle law has spurred many a poet to speak. Your orbit appears restricted and on a smaller canvas, but that does not detract from the underlying facts. The bastards have always managed to take more than their share….! I liked your poem though Nice…. Thumbs up!
