Greedy Eyes - Poem by Joe Davis

Still acting the child
With age you bow to arrogance and greed
You'll ride the backs of the innocent
To gain the power, on which you feed

Merciless and without conscience
You've learned to get your way
All innocence lays dead in you
This evil game you choose to play

Now you walk among the monsters
That see through greedy eyes
While posturing for powers freedom
Ignore the needy's muffled cries

Master of manipulation
Convinced yourself, your lies are true
You smile with self satisfaction
But your conscience will catch up to you...
