He Sets My Soul On Fire - Poem by Donald Yates

I wake up in the morning and He sets my soul on fire.
God will get me going, And I know I’ll never tire.

But I got to have your prayer I got to hear the sound
I got to know you care That I am still around.

I wake up in the morning when the sun don’t shine
I look out the window Want to put the world behind

I know the lord is out there, And for sure I believe
He will set my soul on fire It’s my soul He will relieve.

I wake up in the morning, I got to make a showing
I’m ready for you now lord, In my heart you are a growing.

Let the world go by, It can’t get no where
Cause my lord protects me, It’s His world I share.

He sets my soul on fire, He fuels my very being
He sends the sparks a flying, With wondrous things I’ve seen

When you wake up in the morning, if you look right over there
he’s waiting just for you, and he’ll set your soul on fire
If you allow him to, it’s up to you.
