Hearing Whispers - Poem by Connetta Jean

While walking down a tiny road
out on the edge of town...
I heard Nature whispering
it echoed all around..
she was chatting with the birds..
about berries and everything...
and she was talking to the deer...
about the meadows cold deep spring..
she spoke of summer in full bloom
and How the farmers cut the wheat..
she spoke to A hidden sun and clouds
about raindrops cooling down the heat..
It seemed the silent voice i heard
was whispering in my ear...
telling me to see the signs
Saying Autumn was right here..
I found her waiting patiently
(she hides that Autumn will)
she will push herself right in..
And once here she'll make her kill..
so let's make the most of summer nights
and hot and sticky summer days..
There's one thing that summer will not do..
(she never comes and Stays) ! !
