Hidden In Our Eden

When we were young i promised
To take her to an island of romance
Where we would only be two
And this has come true
In our old age
We have reached the stage
We live on our own
With our cats and dogs in our home.
Our kids grown and gone
We zoom on the phone
When i said those words forty years ago
Didn't know what i meant, i know
Now i know wishes do come true
In unexpected breakthroughs
Here we are
On our island so far
She cooking seemingly all the time
Sunday chicken
While i do a Sunday afternoon rhyme.
Hidden in our Eden.

Brevity of poetry and the brevity of time! Soft rhymes make a delightful read! Lazy off the cuff rhymes sometimes end the best lines!
