Hiding In The Shadows - Poem by Jana Courville
Your hiding in the shadows
Waiting for your fears to subside
Your love, alive but battered
Missing all that you had before
Not yet ready to proceed with the life in waiting for you
Your loneliness, the taste of death
Your lover a sinful pleasure
The love you share a suicidal disease
But the ring..
Like a glass coffin awaiting you
A cloud of darkness covers you
As that one true love awaits
Pondering the questions running through your mind
Pondering the life your soon to leave behind
To take on another.. with that one true guy
'Will you take my hand forever' he asks..
And this time.. with no shame..
You assure him.. and tell him..
That 'Yes 'you' will' and that
''You' will never leave him'
So long as he believes.. so burns your flame
As you both take hold..
Of a new life..
With that one true love...
So was it worth it to hide in the shadows
Till you finally realized that you were already home?
