His Little Princess - Poem by Jordan Greer

I was his daughter
The one he loved
I've heard the fights
I've heard my mom's pain

I've seen him sober
But most of the time I see him drunk
I've learned to ignore him
I've learned to forget

I lost his friendship
I lost his love
I've driven to help him
But I've driven to the understanding that he doesn't want the help

I once was his little princess
I once loved him
I have become his enemy
The one who doesn't matter

I long for his sobriety
I long to be his little princess again
