Ho - Poem by Weldon Davis

I seen you tonight
It hurt my heart
You used to light up my life
Now you're walking in the dark
Just a trip to the store for me
At 2 in the morn
While you were out by the wayside wasted
Looking for a John

How did it get so bad
That you took the essence you had
Threw it in the trash

You got it bad
Sorta like Usher
Doing tricks for treats
Meat
For pimps and pushers

I wanted to pull over
Take you and shake you
Until I made some sense
It wouldn't do any good
Since

Since you've been gone
So far away
Away from the days
We chilled and blazed
Reflections of the girl
I once knew
The girl I loved
You

You changed so much now
The world is but a game
You used to be my lady
Now you've changed your name to
Candy, Luscious, or Starr
(Some crap like that)

Some run of the mill trick
20 dollars can hit that
Split that...Get-er-done
Came a long way doll
From 'He's got to be the one'

It's so sad to see ya swag
Reduced to the next bag
That juices you up
Men are nuts
Figuratively and literally

How can this be so?
I saw you
My heart hurt for you girl
Or should I say
Ho? ...

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I hope this poem inspires some people to change their lifestyle, and others to let go of that person who doesn't want to help themselves...
