Hope - Poem by Mandi Meyer

Crushed beneath my shattered dreams
How cold and hurtful the world now seems.
With broken wings I cannot fly,
But without hope I'd rather die.
That's how I'd feel if this fell through,
My hopes, my dreams, my life with you.
If you ask me you will find
I have all these images in my mind.
Of a life that's filled with love and trust
Where no one can ever come between us.
So with that perfect goal in mind
I firmly push my fears aside.
Step back, close my eyes and sigh,
Then spread my wings and prepare to fly.
