On Honeydew Hath Fed

Human - Poem by On Honeydew Hath Fed

Every generation comes to see it's beauty
Every person understands
It is deeper than we can know
as ancient and fundamental as the stars

Birthed by the horror of loneliness
It is wherever there are two
The foundational unity
The desire rooted deep down
for companionship

It is comradery, it is love, it is friendship
it is gladness, and appreciation
It is more than existence, but
at the core of existence it makes it's home

It is as basic as water,
but you can't quite describe it
with words

It is why you would die for
your best friend
why you smile to see an infant's
laugh and why
peace is a concept worth striving for

It is laughter, it is sustenance
creativity and honor
The basic concept of life,
instinct, if you will, but
more than that

it is the soul of Everyman
it is Humanity.
