Hurt, Pain - Poem by Shannon Charisse Bergeron

An unforgivable act lingering in my heart
A love lost truly maybe destined from the start
Choking back the tears, bottling up the pain
The memories of what was are still driving me insane
I thought I would let go by leaving you in the past
Now here I am wounded in an emotional cast
I have trouble sleeping each and every night
Whenever I close my eyes you are in my sight
Remnants of the day when our love truly shined
Standing in these familiar shadows I am left behind
What do I do now when each day feels like a waste?
I falsely smile ink is all I taste
