Hypocrisy (Limerick) - Poem by Kelly Kurt

A frivolous old Bishop from Rome
Spent a million to spruce up his home
Every Sunday at eight
He’d pass around the plate
After preaching prudence from his tome

To make it more resonant (no pru-DENCE) try this:

After prudence was preached from his tome. you can earn that ten with a perfect beat. Thanks old bean

We all occasionally say one thing and do another. It is more insidious when those who wield power and influence betray a trust thusly

Great limerick, Kelly. I like it more than your toilet and butt limericks. The ones about real people with names changed lol. Not to say that those aren't good but this one is certainly up there with the best of the best. At par with one of my favorite limericks written by you called, Bottom Feeder.... Thank You (Report) Reply

Good to see you online and active again, Ayman. I don't know where my limericks come from, but I am glad they entertain

Thanks, Valsa. Some of the worst hypocrisies occur in religion

This is something that happens all around! A very interesting limerick! It is sad that Sunday collection is misused by the clergy! (Report) Reply

Many charities are similar. Man's greed, selfishness and hypocrisy seem boundless

Thanks, Kumarmani. It is a jab at just one of many sources of hypocrisy in the world.
