I Am - Poem by Leani Auxilio
A poem I wrote in sixth grade.
I am life's mystery unveiled
My very own strength and shield;
I am of a unique and different build
And in my hands a weapon I wield.
I am the grass on an open field
Which to the air will always yield.
I am someone who lives, rain or shine,
Whose legacy will be etched upon the tablets of time.
I am neither boastful nor shy:
Rather, I commit mistakes and often cry.
I am a soul, independent and free,
Strong-willed and stern, like a giant oak tree
I am myself, please let it be:
I am not you,
I am ME.
