.....................I Can Not Stay - Poem by James McLain

Before me walks this a shadow.
Is it yours.
I can not come to close too say.
Crossing over from where
I know you remain.
Oceans of love, play solarium
left behind from before.
Even though in believing.
Passing through,
Deep inside go on believing
and this
you must, answered feeling.
It pulls
you so far off
completely staid away.

    could you have meant:

    It pulls
    you so far off
    completely 'set in one's ways' *** away. ? ?

    adjective
    adjective: staid

    sedate, respectable, and unadventurous.
    staid law firms
synonyms: sedate, respectable, quiet, serious, serious-minded, steady, conventional, traditional, unadventurous, unenterprising, set in one's ways, sober, proper, decorous, formal, stuffy, stiff, priggish; informal starchy, buttoned-down, stick-in-the-mud
I'm not some staid librarian, you know

James, i am not 100% making fun of your spelling. maybe 95%. you've already told me you only went to school through 8th grade, so you are 'forgiven'! !
    :)

and yet you correctly spelled solarium. i spelled it solariam. oops!

does play solarium refer to a sun room in which a child plays? ? ?

i'm trying to figure out what the poem is about. so far my thoughts have come up with.... a child died and a parent is close to making contact with its spirit or....? but it is not possible to really come into contact, and the near-contact (dreaming? daydreaming?) can not continue indefinitely. and the parent is not even sure who/what is close at hand but out of reach.

    hmm?

and i really think you meant stayed, not staid. right or wrong?

    bri ;)

    interesting................as usual.
