I'D Love To Stay Here Longer Poem by Gina Van Wolf

I'D Love To Stay Here Longer

Rating: 5.0

The sun is shining over our heads
it's the only reason I can think of to get out of bed
I'd love to stay here longer
with your arms wrapped around my skin
but the city is now rising and ready to begin.

You grumble moan and turn on your side
and I think to myself of what dreams run in your mind
I'd love to stay here longer
perhaps forever wrapped in a lover's sheet
but there's so many new faces I've got left to meet.

I run my fingers gently through your hair
you have so much love and so much more to spare
I'd love to stay here longer
and perhaps maybe today I will
the city is just rising and I've got time to kill.
