A rare wave
stormed through the deep,
a raving crave
aimed at the heart,
i hear the panting
of a dying soul;
between the dark path
of shadows stemmed
a wary arm;
holding up a string
for me to cling!

I do not know love; but
friendship,
I do not know love; but
patience,
I do not know love; but
compassion,
I do not know love; but
Sharing,
I do not know love; but
understanding,
I do not know love; but
forgiveness,
I do not know love; but
a selfless service to all -

And though, i knew not love;
in all these things i feel its reach!
