I Hide - Poem by Blue Bic73

I feel like such a scumbag it’s unbelievable
Like sick to my stomach it’s unbearable
Not man enough to end it not strong enough to change
Stuck in a goddamn cycle every number falls in range
I hide behind a job and that fact that I make grades
I look to make a good impression then hope attention fades
A front is what I put up, no-one knows the real me
So difficult to admit, it’s admitting I have no identity
A people pleaser I stumble along hoping never to disappoint
Recently living this way has got me saying “what the hell’s the point? ”
No outlet in which to express myself, no emotions left inside
I sit, I smoke, I hit the bottle, and I hide

I hide to wait it out
What the hell am I waiting for?
I hide and bottle it in
How long till I explode?
I hide and hope for change
And that’s the saddest thing of all

Happy to just coast by, never take command
I need take control of my life stand up and be a man
Standing by in fear that’s no way to live your life
Look where that’s gotten you, why you holding a knife?
Staring in the mirror can’t even look yourself in the eye
You ever think of who will be affected if you up and sudden die
Think of your mom and your pops and all of them people that you know
Ur going to break some hearts kid, and who knows how that shit will affect your little bro
So quit the whining the self pity and the sinning
Rise up like Lazarus, a man with a new vision
So tear down, rebuild, and get a goddamn back bone
It’s one thing to say you’ve doneit, it’s another to prove that you have grown

I hide to wait it out
What the hell am I waiting for?
I hide and bottle it in
How long till I explode?
I hide and hope for change
And that’s the saddest thing of all
