I’ll Have To Wait - Poem by Manny Negron
My only wish today
is for you to notice me
I wish there was another way
but for now, I’ll have to wait
Did you think that you would always
find me here when you rolled your eyes?
Did you find that somehow
all your feelings had been pacified?
Did you hope that maybe one day
spring would cease to bring you flowers?
I have found that I have always
cried the tears of silent lovers
