I'M Glad Pencils Have Erasers - Part 2 - Poem by Scarlett Treat

Thanks to my friend, Jerry, from down under,
I now have a new view!
I am so glad he had
A point to share, or two!

'He is glad, ' he said,
'that pencils have erasers,
but also that they
Have lead and sharp points,

Because this way,
We can right our Writes,
And right our wrongs, or make a point,
Or write apologies to someone dear,

Or pen a note
To someone we love,
To tell them just why
We wish they were near

So, this prayer continues,
To you, my Father,
In grateful appreciation,
For pencils with sharp lead and erasers!

Thanks are sent to Mountain Man, Jerry Hughes, for this thought!
Scarlett

A lovely 'other side to the coin' Scarlett. Always two sides to a story. Very well expressed.

A sharp point can make a point and soften a hurt and share a pain and cause a giggle. This wisely penned piece demonstrates how we P/H folk can inspire one another and share the creative potential we all dip into with our hearts and our minds. Wonderful poem inspired by a rather wonderful man. love, Allie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Report) Reply

All true and very well said, both of you. Jerry always makes 'sharp' points in his poetry and comments. You know how to appreciate a good point! Nice write, Lady Scarlett... Esther : ] (Report) Reply

Scarlett! I'm afraid you fell for it.
    That Jerry's a terrible fella!
He's always bragging about the lead in his pencil
(Which he brazenly calls, his 'Propeller! ')

Part 2 not only lives up to the expectations created by Part 1, it entirely surpasses them.... the pencil turned upside down, the other side of the coin.... two highly memorable pieces SSS; stunners, like yourself. t x (Report) Reply

...Redboid, what can I say? I'm honoured to have a poem written for and about me.
    Shucks, I'm all overcome!
