I'M Me - Poem by Shekira Brown

It took me this long to learn my lesson,
The person god made me is no more than a blessing,
These girls only claim they're my friends,
But these same ones deceive me in the end,
I can't be the person y'all want me to be,
It's not my fault all the cuties are sticking to me,
I'm not going to apologize for having a nice body,
I thought you were my friends and that you were always gonna side with me,
It's not my fault I have a big chest and
It's not my fault all the boys are steady stressing
I mean, I'm still the girl I used to be
You 'friends' just need to work with what you got
Because at the end of the day I'm me
'A blessing'
