I'M No Turkey Poem by Carol Pelletier

I'M No Turkey

A turkey I'm not! I'm happy to say,
To be one would ruin my Thanksgiving Day.
If I was I'd rebel and change the tradition
to one less barbaric with a better condition.
My friends would be vegetarians, I feel,
so they won't look at me and think of a meal.
I'd grow plump and sassy, my name would be Doll
and not wrapped naked and called Butterball!
